Line Capacity (LB - YD)

This number shows how much fishing line a reel spool can hold, displayed as yards (YD) of line at a specific line strength (LB). It helps you understand how far you can cast and how much line you’ll have available if a fish makes a long run.

  • Higher capacity suits longer casts, offshore fishing, and species that run hard.
  • Lower capacity suits lighter, finesse setups and short-to-medium range fishing.
  • Capacity can vary depending on line type and diameter (mono, braid, or fluorocarbon).

Example: 10 - 200 means the reel holds approximately 200 yards of 10 lb test line.
