RATING
Wanderer Kids Sleeping Bags are tested to the ASTM F1720 standard, the leading testing method specifically developed for children's sleeping bags. Unlike adult testing standards, ASTM F1720 takes into account the way metabolic heat production changes as children grow.
Each sleeping bag is given temperature ratings for different age groups, helping parents choose the right level of warmth for their child. As children get older, their sleeping metabolic rate decreases, which is why the comfort temperature rating becomes higher for the same sleeping bag.
For example:
-8°C Age 5 | -6°C Age 8 | -3°C Age 11
The ASTM test manikin is based on the approximate size and shape of an average 8-year-old child, making the Age 8 rating the best overall guide when comparing sleeping bags across the Wanderer Kids range.
