XX-Tough Drag
XX-Tough Drag gives you the control, toughness and smoothness to handle the big fish. Each washer is made of metal and carbon, with larger diameter drag washers installed on both the top and bottom sides of the spool. It all adds up to a significant boost to durability, and a 30% reduction in drag loss due to heat compared to older models.
InfinityLoop
InfinityLoop technology drastically reduces friction on the line leaving the spool, giving you fantastic casting performance. The internal structure has been updated to allow the spool to move up and down at extremely low speeds - creating a precise winding pattern with less overlap and far less friction as the line leaves your spool during a cast. That gives you better flight distance, casting feel and drag smoothness than ever before.

InfinityXross technology is built for superior gear durability, with industry-leading design and cutting-edge manufacturing. Shimano has used advancements in gear tooth design to improve the surface contact and meshing between the drive gear and pinion gear - which distributes the load on the gear tooth across a wider area. That stops damage at the stress points and makes it last a lot longer.
Anti-Twist Fin
Anti-Twist Fin is designed to help your line management and stop wind knots, with a flexible polymer fin installed near the line roller. The fin maintains line tension to stop sagging, and stops your line from falling off the bottom of your spool or getting tangled. That means you can stop stressing about your line and focus on your catch.
AR-C Spool
This specially-designed spool ring is designed to reduce line troubles and improve long-distance casting. The AR-C shape improves the spool ring collar, making it less likely for the line to ride on it and reducing the chance of line troubles. It’s also coated with an abrasion-resistant barrier to handle stress under harsh saltwater conditions, keeping it smooth and scratch-free for longer.
X-Shield
X-Shield blocks off all potential water entry points, giving the body and stopper an IPX8 rating for fantastic waterproof performance. The design features sealing structures and gaskets at 12 critical locations throughout the reel, including the body, drag knob and line roller. That gives the reel incredible durability in even the harshest saltwater fishing conditions.
X-Protect
X-Protect delivers great saltwater protection with a new structure that stops corrosion in its tracks without compromising performance. Care Instructions
- After saltwater use, gently rinse with fresh water (do not submerge or pressure-wash).
- Wipe dry with a soft cloth and allow to fully air-dry before storing.
- Back the drag off after use to protect the drag washers.
- Apply a small drop of reel oil to external moving points (bail/handle pivots) as needed.
- Store in a cool, dry place and book periodic servicing through an authorised service centre.

You can return items at any of our 165 BCF store locations. Change-of-mind returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, returns for faulty items are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Online orders can also be returned by post, with free returns available for items up to 22kg or 105cm through our easy-to-use returns portal. For online orders over 22kg or 105cm, please contact our Customer Care Centre on 1300 880 764 to arrange a courier pickup.
